All I want for Christmas is...

I'm not sure if' you'll be able to figure out who got Crawford this shirt! :) He hasn't got to see his Auntie M in a while so we took this for her to see him in his adorable shirt!
And we're leaving for Vegas this afternoon so there will be pictures coming!

Santa baby...

So we went and saw Santa yesterday at the Galleria. It was perfect because it was quick and FREEEEEE, which we like even more! :) This was actually our second attempt at seeing Santa. We went on Saturday night to Johnson City to eat at Silver K (soooo good!), see the lights, and get Crawford's picture taken with Santa. That did not happen though!! Crawford was NOT in a good mood. He was soo tired but wouldn't take a nap and wouldn't let anyone else hold him but his mom. Hopefully next year will be better! Thanks though mom for the wonderful dinner! :)

So here are the pictures of Crawford. I should also say that this was outside so there were cars driving by which is why two of the pictures are of Crawford watching the cars drive by. Nathan said he is definitely his mother's son!
Oh, and we're going to Las Vegas this week, which we are SOOOO excited about. Nathan's cousin Ryan is getting married and Nathan is in the wedding. I will have pictures next week of Crawford's first trip to Las Vegas and meeting all the family and our friends there.

Cutest little Cowboy EVER! :)

Ok, maybe I'm a little biased but I do believe this is the cutest little cowboy ever. He's wearing my big cowboy's hat and I'm sure one day he'll have one of his own. :)

This is also the picture we will be using next weekend at baby dedication at church, which we're excited about. I will have pictures of that next week!

Costume only!

Well it was our first Halloween with Craw-baby! We started out with lunch at Sago's thanks to Auntie M. She won a gift certificate on the radio :) We met Mom/Granna, Dad/Granpa, Mary/Auntie M and Andie. It was so good to see Andie! The last time I saw her was the day after Crawford was born. Here is a picture of Crawford with Andie.

We also found out that Crawford is going to be like his mom and dad! He already is wanting a Margarita! :)
Oh and we're not too sure what my dad was doing here! :) My dad loved hanging with Crawford. This is Crawford showing his Granpa that he found his feet!

Then we came home and put Bubby in his Doggy Costume. We had originally planned on him being a chili pepper, but we tried it on the night before and he had already out grown it. So, yesterday I ran to Target to get another costume. We will NEVER wait until the last minute to get him a costume when he gets older. It was craziness. After we took about 5 pictures in the costume and then took it off, I was wondering exactly why I went out and bought one for him. Oh well, maybe his next sibling can wear it. Here is my little puppy dog! :)

I think this is the cutest puppy dog EVER!
His cute little tail!

FEET!!

Crawford had a new discovery on Sunday morning. Not only can he grab his feet, he can now put them in his mouth!! :) Yummy! Here he is looking like he's thinking "why didn't anyone tell me I could do this?"It's just so darn adorable! But then again anything he does I think is adorable. On a not so good note, Crawbaby got his first boo-boo :( As you have I"m sure seen in previous posts, he loves his jumper! Well last week I noticed he had a blister on his toe from the carpet and jumping so much. You might think we're not good parents for leaving him long enough to get it, but he is just so darn happy in the thing. I think he also likes it because he is upright and can see everything that's going on in. He is sooo curious now and aware. Even though it was a not good thing he got the blister, Nathan found a way to make it all better. Of course Transformers were involved. Here is evidence of Crawford's FIRST band-aid! :)

AND YES IT'S TRANSFORMERS!!!

Nathan just LOVES the fact that Transformers are popular again. He wishes so badly that they had a baby Transformers Halloween Costume, but I guess the costume makers realize it would just be for the parent's enjoyment! :)

Week in review

Well I posted earlier about Crawford getting his vaccinations on Friday. The nurse was right, she said Saturday might be harder for him than Friday. He was SUPER fussy yesterday, so... we had to cancel our pictures with Tanya at the pumpkin patch. I was so sad because we've been trying to coordinate for so long & we were really looking forward to going. So instead of going for pictures we just hung out longer at my parents, which I know they enjoyed. On a better note, since the Dr. said we could try rice cereal with Crawford, we did last night. It was actually pretty uneventful. We're going to have to keep trying but here is a look at Crawford before and during!

BEFORE

DURING! :)

AS you can see Crawford was not a big fan of the rice cereal. I added apple juice hoping that might help the taste, but not so much. We'll keep trying though. I imagine that he will be liking food, so I"m not too worried!

4 months!

We had our 4 month check up today, even though he was on the 14th. He did very well considering he got jabbed in the leg 4 times!! I'm going to have to copy my friend Katie's portrayal of a nurse that we saw, and the one Crawford saw!

This is what we saw...

And I'm pretty sure this is what Crawford saw when she came walking in with the shots!!

Poor Baby!!

On a good note though, he weighed 17 lbs 2.5 oz, which is the 75th percentile. Some might call him a block! :) He is also now 27 inches, which is the 90th percentile. We DO NOT have a small boy, to say the least. Here's a picture of him at 4 months and you can see all the rolls. Some times I like to call him "Baker" since he's got so many rolls! :)

He is soo much fun and adorable! He is loving his jumper and standing up. We can't hardly get him to sit down. I can only imagine what he will be like when he really starts moving. Definitely will be keeping his mom and dad on our toes. :) This weekend we will be going to a pumpkin patch to get our pictures taken and I'm so excited! The photographer is a teacher I work with who takes amazing pictures so we can't wait!! Nathan is super excited since he loves Halloween so much and we will be surrounded by pumpkins. So... Stay tuned for those! Have a great weekend!

Teeth or not?

I think my little boy might be teething. He's been fussy, drooling like crazy, chewing on anything he can get in his mouth, & not really wanting to eat a lot. I'm hopin that's what this is and that darn tooth will hurry up and get here. I want my happy baby boy back!!! :)

Rollover, again!

I just wanted to write it down so I don't forget that Crawford rolled over again by himself, this time from his back to his belly! We weren't sure how this would happen with his "milk belly" but he did it! :) We also think he's teething!! Chewing, drooling, and fussy. Fun Fun!

Family Time

We have had a great weekend of family time! It's been really nice to atually be home the whole weekend. We're either in Marble Falls or out of town. Since my mom and sister are in Missouri, my dad came over to our house to watch UT last night.
Crawford and his Granpa

O-ma and Granddaddy also came over to see Crawford, which was so nice to have them over as well. Crawford was worn out after such a busy day of being cute and laughing for his family!
Such a cute pic of Crawford with his Daddy!

Since we had company yesterday Nathan got the cleaning done while I went to the grocery store. It is so nice having it all done and not having to worry about it today. I have enjoyed being home together in this cool rainy weather watching football with my boys! :)

Cousin monster mash

Try JibJab Sendables® eCards today!

Abilene, Abilene, prettiest town I've ever seen...

We had so much fun in Abilene this weekend. It's always a great time when we get together with the Gardner Girls. However, this time it just wasn't the same without the Longley family. We can't wait for them to come down for Halloween so Coleman and Crawford can meet. We wish Coleman could've been there for the pictures. It would've been Coleman, Brady and then Crawford. We thought it could be one of those ads for at& t, "more bars, in more places" with their height! :) Here is the pic of Crawford and Brady.
And yes, Crawford eats VERY well! :)

Bubba boy!

My bubba boy this morning! He woke up a little too early and was REALLY wanting to go back to sleep, but I couldn't resist since he's so darn cute!!! :)

And the little one said...

ROLL OVER, ROLL OVER!!!!! Yea, Crawford! He rolled over!!

Crawford & his Great-Great Mamaw Dollie

We took Crawford a few weeks ago to see his Great-Great Mamaw Dollie! Boy does she love him and he love her :) Look at that adorable smile he's giving her, it just lights the room!!

Crawford & his Great Grandma Sarah

I know this is a little late, but my Grandma Sarah came to stay with us while Nathan went to California for the last part of his training. I tried to get the video of her singing to him, but I was too late! Anyone who knows my Grandmother knows that her signing is a sweet, sweet sound!! Much better than his mommy's!! :)

Back to the land of the living & 6oz

Well it's been officially a week since I started feeling HORRIBLE and I am finally back in the land of the living. My wonderful husband took care of Crawford last night so I could go to bed early, and that I did!! :) I feel actually like a normal person again. I'm done with Tamiflu and am now just on antibiotics. My poor sister however is on Tamiflu now...I think I gave it to her :( Nathan was also on Tamiflu, but just for precautionary measures though. Crawford wasn't feeling very good either for the last few days. He was coughing, sneezing, and very congested. I think he's turned the corner though and doing much better, which is where the 6 oz come in. They told me at his school today that he needed a medium flow nipple because it was taking him too long to eat and was having a difficult time finishing. Soooo, I went and got him some new bottles and he finished 6 oz in about 5 MINUTES!!! Where is my baby going? He usually eats 5 oz, and now 6?!!! :) Crazy Crawbaby!!! :) I love you so much and love being your mommy!!!!! Here is my big boy!!

Seriously???

I started not feeling good yesterday and now have the flu!! Not the Type A, really serious kind, but enough to make me feel like I got hit by a truck! UGH! I started tamiflu today so hopefully it will help some. Prayers would be appreciated that Nathan and Crawford don't get anything.

Answered prayers

Ok, one of these is not that significant and probably shouldn't have even been prayed, but I'm from Texas where football is KING!!
1. TEXAS won!! :) This is Crawford and Granpa enjoying their first Texas game together! My dad is in HEAVEN!!

2. (This is the more important one) We haven't gone to church since Crawford was born because I wasn't sure what we would do with him. I knew I hadn't seen any other babies in church so I figured they went to the nursery. I just didn't want to do that because I feel like I don't get to see him much and I don't know who the people are that are working. Not that I think the chruch would have incompetent people working, I just am not that comfortable yet. So needless to say we hadn't gone. We made the decision last night that we were going, you don't know until you try. Well when we got there someone could tell we weren't sure what to do, I guess it was written all over our "new parent" faces. He showed us the nursery and the FAMILY ROOM!! :) they have a room where you can go with babies and watch the service. It was perfect because we got to be at church and with Crawford. Maybe someday we'll (or should I say me?) be comfortable enough to leave him, but we're/I'm not there yet. So until then we will enjoy the family room! :) Thank you Lake Hills!

oops!

I said something a little funny this morning and thought I would share! This morning Crawford's teacher Miss Marisa said that she was checking Crawford for a poopy diaper. She said, "yep, he's pooped" to which I replied, "really? Nathan pooped this morning!". She said "what?" and then I realized what I had said!! I meant, Nathan had changed Crawford's poop already!!! OOPS!! :)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lil' longhorn

Well here is my handsome little longhorn! I put him in this last Friday since Nathan was coming home and I knew his dad would be proud. I couldn't believe how darn cute he looked in it :) It's also amazing to me how much he is growing up. I can't believe that he will be 3 months old in less than a week. Speaking of that, I'm not sure if I go by the actual date of the 14th, or the weeks, because if you go by weeks, he is 12 weeks old. Oh well, either way, he's growing up.
Another reason that I put him in the outfit was because it was the first UT football game of the season. Our friends from Vegas, the Purvis' were in town so we took them down to show them what a real football game is all about. The weather actually wasn't that bad and we had fun. Next time though I want to actually go in the gates! :)

My happy boy!

Here is a picture my Grandma Sarah took last night while we were out on our walk. He was talking to her and obviously enjoyed it. Seeing him smile just melts my heart, especially when he sees me and smiles. :)

HELP!!

I need some help on figuring out this blog layout thing! Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Time flies when you're having fun...

This has two meanings for me, one that my baby boy is 2 1/2 months old!!! And second that Nathan will be leaving again for California on Sunday, it seems like just yesterday he left the first time. Fortunately I was able to stay with my parents the first time he left and this time, my grandmother will be coming from Plano to stay with Crawford and I, but oh how I miss Nathan. I knew we were a perfect match/team but having Crawford has proved it even more. I just don't feel like we're complete without him there. He's the yin to my yang, the coffee for my cup, my umbrella for the rain, the coat to keep me warm from the cold, he's my EVERYTHING!! I am realizing even more now how blessed I am to call him my husband, my teammate, my friend, the father of my baby, and my love!

All this reflecting is because he's leaving in a few days and because yesterday is that day that I met him 10 YEARS AGO!!!! Crazy huh?!

I LOVE YOU NATHAN JAMES DONALD MATTOX!!!

This is harder than I thought!

I have ALWAYS been someone that said I wasn't "cut out" to be a stay at home mom. What the heck was I thinking? I would LOVE to be able to stay at home with my baby boy all day. It literally breaks my heart and makes me want to start crying right now knowing that someone else will be feeding him, changing him, rocking him to sleep, and playing with him. I also know that I am so blessed to have him here on campus with me so I can go see him whenever I want, which believe me, I have surely done! Miss Marissa his teacher is wonderful, but she's not me, his mommy. I know that things will get better, but boy do I wish Nathan and I had planned better. My hope and prayer is that I can go part time soon! Until then I just keep praying for my sanity!!

Not too good at this!

Well I'm not too good at this blogging thing! Lots has happened and I can't seem to keep it updated. I think the main reason is that I actually have to be on the computer to do it, and those times are few and far between! :) If I could do this from my phone it would be much easier. I'm not sure what I would do without my phone or Facebook!! They have saved me during those middle of the night feedings. I am really looking forward to the day when those stop. We're really trying to get Crawford on a schedule (as much as I can with a 5 week old), and hopefully this will transition into sleeping through the night.

Having him at home with us has been amazing. He is typically a happy baby, unless of course he is hungry. Who can blame him though, I know I get the same way when I'm hungry! :) Well here are a couple of pictures of him, and one of him at one month. Cannot believe he is 5 weeks old. Wow how time flies when you're having fun!

long over due!

well most of you know, Crawford James is here! He was born June 14th @ 2:27 am, was 7 lb 13 oz & 21 inches long with big feet! Here is a pic of proud parents with our little man!

Monday, June 1, 2009

If you're counting...

We only have 12 more days until Crawford James Mattox is here! Nathan and I were talking this morning that not only are we having a baby this month, he will be here next week!! This is so crazy for us since it's been just the two of us for almost 8 years. That's something crazy in and of itself, that we've been married almost 8 wonderful years. I guess time flies when you're having fun. I had a dr. appointment last Friday and everything is going ok, and I will have this Friday as well. Hopefully there will be a little more progress! Keep your fingers crossed. And Katie, I would appreciate your prayers since I did for you!! :) Well I will keep everyone updated as we continue on this amazing roller coaster!!

36 weeks

I haven't done anything on here in a while! I'm 36 weeks now, so only a few weeks left. I have actually scheduled my induction for June 12th, so hopefully he will be here the 12th or 13th. I feel much better having an actual date, of course he comes before then. Nathan and I counted and we have 3 more Friday nights, just the two of us, and then BAM! Crawford James will be here. I have two weeks left of school, which is very exciting for me. I've always worked the summer, which even though I will be off, I will still be "working" just in a different way. I'll have to add pictures on here soon of Crawford's room. Well I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!

Friday, May 15, 2009

36 weeks!

Well I'm 36 weeks so Crawford James will be here in a month, which is beyond crazy for us. We had a dr. appointment today and found out that everything is moving in the right direction, including Crawford, he's head down! :) Here are a couple pictures of him from the ultrasound today. We're so excited, but of course nervous at the same time.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Crib!!

We're actually putting the crib together today which is very surreal! I guess we can't keep acting like this isn't going to happen. Crawford will be here in T - 59 days!!! :)

Friday, April 10, 2009

Happy Easter!

We just wanted to say Happy Easter and I hope that everyone has a great one! We're heading to DFW tomorrow for lunch (yep that's all!) and then on to Waco for Easter with the Crawford family!

Cassia June Mattox

Our second niece is here! She was 7 lbs 6 oz and 19 1/2 inches long, so we're figuring she got Jason's height! Here is a picture :)

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Update this week!

I am so excited that we have TSHA (Texas Speech and Hearing Association) this week! Not only because I guess I'll be learning but mainly because I won't be at work on Thursday and Friday! Also because I get to see Brittany and another friend Tenille. Fun times!

My sister-in-law Nataly is supposed to be having our second niece, Cassia soon. We're so excited for them and praying that everything goes smoothly for them as well as Joelle. One cool thing that our families (Jason and ours) keep doing is using the same initials. We have NM, JM, and now both of our babies will be CJM! Cassia June Mattox and Crawford James Mattox :)

I am 29 weeks today so only 11 left. It's crazy! We do have the car seat and stroller which is a step in the right direction. A few people at work have told me they're a little concerned about how little we have done. Nathan has started moving some of the furniture around so we can start getting his room set up. We are supposed to get the crib in a couple of weeks from my aunt and uncle. Maybe it will all start being a little more real!

Ok Ok!

People keep asking for a pregnancy picture, so here is one of the belly. I didn't look too good so I thought you could just get the gist from the belly! Crawford is growing, as am I!

Tornado!

Welcome back to Texas! A tornado passed right by my parents and we had some major storming in our area. What would spring time in Texas be without a tornado and some hail?

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

2/3 of the way there!

I am so excited because I am officially 2/3 of the way done with this pregnancy!! I'm excited to meet Crawford James, but also scared out of my mind! It also makes me realize that we have NOTHING done. Better get to it huh?

Monday, March 23, 2009

Long time!

Well it's been a LONG time since I've written on here, so I thought I would catch up. I am obviously no Katie Longley! Hopefully though once Crawford gets here I will be as good as she is. :) I just started back to work after a nice week off for spring break. It was great but sometimes I feel like it's just a tease! I did get to go to Vegas and see everyone which was great, but it sure did make me miss it. I only came home because Nathan was here and I can't raise a baby alone! We are heading back in December though for cousin Ryan's wedding & I won't be pregnant so I can live it up. December can't come quick enough! I did realize though while I was out there, that Austin, TX is now my home. Not because I just love it here but because I realize that this is the life we have chosen and where we decided to move and we need to make the best of it.

Long time!

Well it's been quite a while since I wrote on here. I guess I just don't have as much going on, oh, and I don't have any cute pictures, unless of course you want to see my four legged kids! I did want to say though that Katie, you are doing a nice job of updating and posting pictures. Hopefully I will be able to do the same when Crawford gets here!
Today is Monday the first day back from Spring Break and I am NOT wanting to be here. My bed sounds much better to me right now. On a positive note, I will be 28 weeks tomorrow which means I will be in the 3rd and FINAL trimester. This is good and bad at the same time. Good because I can't wait to meet Crawford and bad because we don't have ANYTHING done. And for y'all that know Nathan, I know that is hard to believe. I guess it just hasn't really sunk in yet that we're having a BABY! I don't feel grown up enough, but I guess I am at 28 :( Atleast I alwasy have Nathan who is 4 years older :)
Well I will update if I have any cool news, which I doubt I will. We are supposed to have another ultrasound so I will upload those pics when we have it.
love to all!

1st time

Well this is my first attempt at blogging!! I've heard so many people do it so I thought I would give it a try. Not too much to report though. Well actually, I am happy that Texas beat OU last night, even if it was because Blake Griffin left in the first half. I guess I should get going though because my wonderful domesticated husband is waiting for me to start helping!!
